In the past few months, I’ve suffered numerous panic/anxiety attacks due to PTSD… My doctor gave me a quick fix, and I keep it in my purse. Other than distractions (I always carry my ipod, earbuds, and my phone that has lots of brain-games like sudoku and words with friends), I carry a small, lunch-sized brown bag with me. When you breathe into the bag, you exhale carbon monoxide. When you breathe it back in, the lack of oxygen slows you down and returns your breathing to normal in a few minutes.Hope that helps! |
