I definitely heard the classical etude side of things in the music. Parts of it seemed to be in a classical mode, almost a regular major key, even, and I couldn’t tell if that was intentional on Cecil’s part or some product of the reverb. I’d half-expected him to spend some time doing very slow stuff, letting the reverb play out, but he decided to go all Cecil on our asses instead, which is fine.
