Colin,Personally, I am not in favor of “caveat” insertions, otherwise there is no confessionalism. At the same time, I believe there are certain sections of the BFM that can be interpreted in a couple of different ways, and I’m not inclined to stop exegeting God’s Word so that I have time to exegete man’s attempt at interpreting God’s Word.What this means is that guys like Wade should not be allowed “caveats,” but again, I’m not sure Wade’s “dissagreements” with the BFM are dissagreements at all. I think he has interpreted the document more strictly than its authors intended. |
