A similar situation occurred in the Sausalito waterfront community in the early eighties. A dealer rented a houseboat and set up business, getting a few of the local kids strung out. Late one night the local posse cut the houseboat’s mooring lines, towed it out of the neighborhood and tied it up alongside the Army Corp of Engineer’s dock – with spray painted graffiti identifying the occupant’s stock in trade. It was a cool and effective bit of grass-roots justice. |
