My father got into programming full time in the early 70's after his science job dried up. He told me when he retired in the late 90's he had gotten tired of it because it was all about the interface at that point. I can see why having a cool interface is attractive from a functional standpoint but I think programmers want to be cool, and get attention from non-geeks, and designing a cool interface makes you a cool guy who the chicks dig. |
